Happy Easter

Well, we had a fun filled Easter weekend. First the girls and I made bunny hats at home.

We had a party with Doug's family on Saturday. We did some Easter crafts, made chocolate suckers, had an Easter egg hunt and dinner. Here are some pictures from that.

Jante was ready to find the eggs.

Here is a picture that Ella took of her cousin Jante. She is turning out to be quite a good photographer.
And here is Jante trying to smell the dandelions.

Then Sunday morning the girls got up to find the eggs that the Easter Bunny had hidden for them. The Easter Bunny also spoiled them by bringing them Disney Sing It and High School Musical 3 Sing It for the Wii. They had to follow clues to find the games.

I taught them how to paint their face with Robin Eggs.

Then we went to church. They put on a very nice program for Sacrament Meeting. I felt the Spirit there very strong. I hope that my children remember that Easter isn't all about the Easter Bunny and candy.

After church we went to my mom's house for yet more candy and dinner. Dinner was DELICIOUS and I ate way too much.

The kids got to find eggs at Grandma's house.

I think Alyssa was upset because she didn't get to find any eggs.
Or maybe she was just tired like her mommy.
We had a wonderful Easter. I think the kids will be on a sugar high for at least the next few weeks. They got way too much candy!!

Karaoke Warner style

For Family Home Evening I decided to karaoke for our activity. We all had to sing one solo and then a duet. I went first and sang Home to You by John Michael Montgomery.
Then Erika sang Work This Out from High School Musical 2.
Then Ella sang Right Here, Right Now from High School Musical 3.
Then Lizzy sang White Horse by Taylor Swift.
Then Doug sang The Tide is High by Blondie. He really got into it.

Then Emily sang Can I Have This Dance from High School Musical 3. You can't tell from the picture but she was dancing while she was singing.
Then came our duets. Ella and I were first and first. We sang I Lived in Heaven.
Then we sang Livin' On A Prayer by Bon Jovi. Please make sure you are not drinking anything before watching this video as I do not want to be responsible for any damage done to your computer. Let me apologize to Bon Jovi for my poor performance. Take careful note of Lizzy jamming out in the corner.

Then Emily and Doug sang Our Family is of God.
Then they sang You Are The Music In Me from High School Musical 2.

Lizzy and Erika sang I am a Builder
And then they sang A Night To Remember from High School Musical 3.

We had fun and laughed a lot. Thanks Doug and the 4 E's for helping make memories that will last a lifetime.

Lizzy Rules the World!!

Erika chose to play Risk for our Family Game Night.

Lizzy ended up winning. Okay, she didn't really rule the world since we ran out of time, but she did own the most countries.
We decided we wanted Frostys so I went off to Wendy's to get them. Doug surprised me and snapped my picture when I walked in the door.

We're off to see the concert...

Lizzy had her school choir concert on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. I snapped this picture of Emily, Ella and Erika skipping in to the school. I thought it was so cute.
Here is a picture of Lizzy in her dress. I wish I was as skinny as she is!!

And here are some of her at her concert. They aren't the greatest pictures because I'm still trying to figure out how to use my camera.

Lizzy was in the Choraliers and Ensemble. The Choraliers (the all girl choir) sang Lift Thine Eyes, Climbing Over Rocky Mountain, and Old Joe Clark. The Ensemble sange And the Father Will Dance, The Colors of My Life, and Gypsy Rover. I think they did a great job. I think Lizzy really enjoys singing and I am very proud of her.

Ella is the master bowler

Doug had the day off on Saturday so after we cleaned the house we took a vote on what fun activity we wanted to do. Bowling won. I forgot my camera so there are no pictures. But here are the final scores:

Ella-103
Erika-100
Beverly-99
Doug-96
Lizzy-96
Emily-70

Ella is having fun telling everyone she beat her whole family in bowling, especially her mom and dad.

Blankets Anyone?

Well we had our Friday Family game night and Ella choose to play EyeCatcher.
Doug decided to try and make it harder for him so he did it with his eyes closed. Needless to say, he didn't do very good.

Here is Ella keeping score

And here is Erika watching the timer.
And since that game didn't take very long, they decided they wanted to make a tent in the front room and sleep there.

And with that many blankets there is bound to be some static.

The kids had fun, but my back didn't really like sleeping on the floor. Oh the things we will do for our kids.

Erika wants it to stop snowing

The other night it was Erika's turn to say the family prayer. She wanted me to help her so I was telling her what things we were thankful for and I said we're thankful for the snow we received. We continued on with the prayer and at the end she likes to add her own little things and she said "And please don't make it snow anymore so Daddy can put the tramp up." She's been saying that in every prayer she's said for the past week or so, but to no avail. The snow still keeps coming. The kids are ready for spring and they want their trampoline up!! But alas, I guess Doug's desire to not put it up yet keeps the snow coming.
